CULINARY ARTS 2 CLASS WEEK 1 MEAL PLAN

Student created meal plans for one week that incorporates variety, color, texture, and ease of preparation.  Recipes range from fast blender smoothies to easy prepare ahead casseroles that can put in the oven on a day when there is no preparation time.

Monday:  Chicken Veggie Mac*, Cabana Boy Smoothie*

Ingredients:  box mac and cheese, cream cheese, yogurt, chicken breast, frozen mixed veggies, olive oil, butter, milk, bread crumbs, juice concentrate:  pineapple and orange, sugar,

Tuesday:  Bruschetta Chicken Bake * served with a salad and Italian dressing 

Ingredients:  canned diced tomatoes, chicken breast, stove top stuffing, mozzarella cheese, garlic, basil, romaine lettuce, italian dressing

Wednesday:  Chicken Noodle Casserole*, Cappuchino Mousse*

Ingredients:  chicken breast, egg noodles, can condensd soup:  mushroom and cream of chicken, sour cream, buttery round crackers, butter, milk, instant coffee, cool whip, bakers semi sweet chocolate, vanilla pudding

Thursday: Chicken Spinach Penne*, Bruschetta” made with whole wheat bread*

Ingredients:  chicken breast, penne pasta diced tomatoes, spaghetti sauce, frozen spinach, mozzarella cheese, bruschetta bread, 1/2 lb fresh tomatoes, balsamic vinegar, olive oil

Friday:  FINGER FUN Crescent Wrapped Little Smokies*, canned fruit cocktail with whipped cream

Ingredients:  refrigerated crescent rolls, mini smokies sausages, canned fruit cocktail, cool whip

Saturday:   Easy Make ahead Tater Tot Casserole*,  The Infusion Smoothie*

Ingredients:  grated cheddar cheese, ground beef, cream mushroom soup, frozen tator tots, milk, frozen strawberries, juice concentrate:  pineapple and white grape raspberry, vanilla

Sunday:  Italian Chicken*, Buttery Garlic Potatoes*, Roasted Vegetables*

Ingredients:  chicken breast, fresh onion, chopped tomatoes, potatoes, butter, seasned salt, paprika, parsley flakes, minced garlic, fresh mushrooms, baby carrots, bell pepper, parmesan cheese

Weekly Wildcard:  Eat your fruits and veggies!  Cut bell peppers into strips and keep in refrigerator to give a fast crunchy appetizer with a little dressing while waiting for your meal.  Plus they increase nutrients add a color to a green salad for an eye appealing pleasing meal.  Smoothies are easy end of the meal treats that also make great breakfasts.

 

Groceries or Pantry Needs

MEAT DEPARTMENT:  12 chicken breast, 1 lb mini smoked sausage, 1 lb lean ground beef

FREEZER:  1 lb strawberries, 2 lb tater tots, 1 lb mixed frozen veggies, 12 oz each frozen juices (pineapple, orange, white grape raspberry), 10 oz spinach,  8 oz cool whip

FRESH PRODUCE:  ½ lb tomatoes, 2 ½ lb potatoes, 1 large onion, 1 shallot, 2 cloves garlic, 1 lb green salad

REFRIGERATED:  1 gallon milk,  8 oz cream cheese, 1 c each vanilla and peach yogurt, 3 cups mozzarella cheese, 1 ½ cup shredded cheddar, 8 oz  sour cream, 8 oz refrigerated crescent rolls, butter

PANTRY ITEMS:  2 - 7.25 ox bx mac and cheese, ½ lb penne pasta, 6 oz egg noodles, 1 tube Ritz crackers, stove top stuffing, vanilla instant pudding, 14 oz can fruit cocktail, bread crumbs, 3 14.5 oz diced tomatoes, 1 large jar spaghetti sauce, 1 10 oz can each cream of mushroom and cream of chicken soup,

SPICE/ FLAVORINGS:  Olive oil, sugar, salt, parsley, paprika, vanilla, balsamic vinegar, basil, seasoned salt, instant coffee, thyme, mustard, lemon juice.
