Nicole Newton's Assignments

This is a self-progressed class, students will be more responsible for their own learning.  I have made outlines of each chapter that require students to have their work/progress checked several times within a lesson and before they are able to move on to a new concept.  If at any point I feel that your child does not understand a concept, I will re-teach and allow for more practice in order for him/her to achieve mastery. 

At the beginning a each week, I am giving each students goals that need to be meet at the end of each class/week.  It is their responsibility to meet those goals.  If they are not able to meet that daily goal before they leave my classroom the rest of that material is homework.  I will then be checking at the start of the next class period that the work was completed.  If they are not able to get their daily goal met, I will be keeping them in for recess that day to give them extra time to meet that goal.  Furthermore, if a student is not able to meet their daily/weekly goals I will be recommending that he/she attend the student services center the next week.  The student services center is held on Tuesdays & Thursdays 3:30 - 4:00.  By attending it will give the students more time to work on their Math and get help from myself if needed.
