*Note: Every class period begins with a bell ringer. If a student is absent, the date must be written in their notebook along with the word absent to avoid losing points for the missed bell ringer. Without this documentation, it will be assumed that the student was in school and did not complete assigned work.

Because students will spend a great deal of time working on their research paper during Quarter 3, there will be no Quarter Project. The research paper may require some additional work outside of class, so planning some quite time at home or at the public library will be useful. Students can always set up time before or after school with their teachers as well for extra support or a place to work. There will be a project for Quarter 3, so students can begin planning for this project if they wish. It will be a shorter project since they will spend the first 5 weeks of Quarter 3 working on the research paper.

Daily work and assignments may change. If you have been absent, be sure to see me the day you return, and I can provide you with the work missed. The handbook will be followed for the allotment of make up days for work missed. If you were absent when an assignment was due, it is your responsibility to turn it in upon return.

Late work can be turned in to receive 50% credit for up to one week after the original due date. When the one week period passes after the original due date of the assignment, late work will no longer be accepted for a grade. Absent work will continue to follow guidelines in the planner.
