Due to the inclement weather, we will have a 2-hour delay tomorrow morning (1/17). Tomorrow will be a full school day (no "early-out"), with dismissal at 3:15 p.m.

The Iowa Caucus will go on as scheduled at Mediapolis schools this evening. Doors will open at 5:30 for the public. Entrance is through the high school, and parking is available.

On Saturday Jan. 6, 5 students from the Mediapolis Band Department traveled to Fairfield to audition for the 2024 Southeast Iowa Bandmasters Association Honor Band.
Congratulations to Alyssa Haynie (horn) and Audrey Howe (flute) for being selected into the Honor Band as well as Noah Smith (horn) for being selected as an Alternate! Alyssa and Audrey will be traveling to Iowa City on Jan. 20 to perform in the Festival.

Dear Mediapolis Families,
As you may be aware, there has been an incident of school violence this morning at Perry High School, which is in a community just outside of Des Moines. While the details are not yet clear, our thoughts are with the students, staff, and families of Perry at this time.
We want our families to know we are in close contact with local law enforcement officials. They believe the incident in Perry to be isolated, and there is no indication of an active threat here at Mediapolis CSD.
Out of an abundance of caution, there will be an increased police presence in our schools today. The safety and security of our school community remain our top priority.
We know that some students may struggle to process terrible news like this. Our school counselors are available and ready to assist as needed. We encourage students to stop by the counseling office at their school at any time if they need support.
