We are excited to kick off ISASP testing season next week as our students showcase the knowledge and skills they’ve worked so hard to build all year! The Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP) provides a valuable snapshot of student growth in English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science, and we couldn’t be more proud of the effort and dedication our students and staff bring to preparing for these assessments. We look forward to celebrating their achievements and using the results to continue strengthening our instructional programs. This morning the Mediapolis Schools conducted an ALICE intruder drill in conjunction with the Des Moines County Sheriff's Department.

Students from the Mediapolis High School competed last Friday at SCC for the annual Southeast Iowa Skills Throwdown. Brookelyn Fenton took home top prize in the welding contest, and is the schools first individual to place in welding through all the years of the contest. Additional welders that represented Mediapolis were Luke Steffener and Evan Frank. In the Construction Trades Contest, Mediapolis was represented by Grant Beschorner, Zack McLaughlin, Henry Nalley, and Aiden Frank. This is the 8th year that Mediapolis has competed at the skills challenge. Students finished the day out by touring KPI Metals in West Burlington, and would like to thank them for opening their doors for a tour.

Exciting News for Mediapolis Schools and Students!

CNH (CASE) announced today a generous new partnership with Mediapolis Schools and has committed $100,000 to expand and improve our Industrial Arts programming! These resources will help us drive college and career readiness by enhancing STEM opportunities in our courses, including:

Computer-Integrated Manufacturing & Design (2D and 3D)
Expanded STEM-focused Industrial Arts
Graphic Design and Gaming Design
Concurrent enrollment opportunities in Welding

The Mediapolis team is so thankful for this incredible upgrade for our students. Because of this donation, we will be able to renovate our existing facilities and provide incredible opportunities that reach our students in innovative ways — evolving our education to meet the ever-growing needs of industry.

As Dr. Magliari shared:
“Braden Manning, Ehren Housman, and the entire team at CNH have been collaborating with Mediapolis representatives for three months now to look at our programming and provide incredible opportunities in the areas we mentioned above. As both parties came full circle, we realized that when one door closes, another opens. Together with this incredible partnership, we will continue to enhance career opportunities for our students.”
